Surrey Half Marathon 2017

Get Set for The Surrey Half Marathon 2017

The Guide 2 Surrey 18/01/2017 Staff Writer Surrey’s premier running event, The Surrey Half Marathon returns to the streets of Woking and Guildford on March 12th, to push the pulse rates of the local population and to raise valued funds for charities large and small the length and breadth of the county and beyond...The Surrey Half Marathon has been the County’s largest half-marathon for the past 4 years, and according to a survey carried out last year, raised £0.4 million for charity in 2016. The half marathon sees the return of Macmillan Cancer Support as a national charity partner for 2017, alongside Harrison’s Fund as the local charity partner. The Surrey Half is proud to support and work with a number of other charities including Alzheimer’s Research UK, KSS Air Ambulance and Woking & Sam Beare Hospices.  In addition to the title Half Marathon event and Kids’ Race - which saw over 500 children take part in 2016 - a brand new 5km run has been added for 2017. Race Director Toby Jenkins says that the 5km “is a very achievable distance for beginners”...
